CALABARZON
is designated as Region IV-A in the Philippines,
and its regional capital is Calamba City in Laguna. The region is composed
of five provinces, namely: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas,
Rizal and Quezon, and the region's name is an acronym
of the names of these provinces. Calabarzon was created to maximize the
socio-economic growth among the Southern Tagalog provinces of Luzon.
In Saudi Arabia,
Calabarzon OFW Org. was created sometime June 1997 to promote the
true essence of community service among OFWs, and is dedicated to the
upliftment of OFWs from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as fellow OFWs from all regions of our
country. It is also one of
the active partners of the Philippine Embassy, POLO and OWWA in promoting
the welfare, providing invaluable support and assistance to our distressed
kababayans, and extending opportunities for socio-civic, cultural and
economic developments to OFWs.
